"Orientation & Commitment" during Movement Control Order 2020

We can always choose either to take proactive role or being reactive to the changes of circumstances around us. I believe that things happening around us is always beyond our control and it is ok that we are unable to control the things that are happening or happened. It is for us to take charge of what we are able to do to overcome the situation that we are facing. During this period where our movements are restricted, it is the great time for us to pick up new skills. Always start with setting up proper "Orientation" and "Commitment" when we are picking up new skills.

Orientation happens every time when we start to develop or to pick up a new set of skills. It is important to have proper orientation to make clear of the steps, the do's and the dont's in order for us to achieve the goals that we want. Orientation happens for us to set a clear purpose of why are we moving towards the goal that we want. A good orientation will always lay out the clear goal. We should also be clear of the roles that we have to play in order to reach the goal. What kind of person that we have to BE in order to play this game? Having the awareness of being accountable to the result in accomplish the goal. During orientation, we should always be clear and asking the following questions:

(i) what is the goal / game?

(ii) How do we play?

(iii) How do we win / achieve this game / goal?

Next, commitment works together with orientation. Commitment is a form of power that will push ourselves to get the job done. We need to be clear of where are we going. If commitment is missing, we will not be going towards the goal even though we have the knowledge how to get there. Commitment comes from INSIDE. Commitment is essential as it is the power for us to walk forward. Commitment is the ignition of the engine and it is also useful at a breakdown. If we stop half way at the journey, the commitment is the power comes within us that push us forward. It has to be evoked in order for us to have the commitment to continue to play the game. A good commitment sets strong belief that may sound like "Not only I believe it can be done, but it should be done!"

In short, we may make good use of the time we have to pick up the skills that we want to. Always run a proper orientation with ourselves and set a meaningful commitment so that we will know why do we start the game. Never ever be afraid to revise the orientation and commitment process during the journey because it consists of the clear PURPOSE of WHY ARE WE PLAYING.
