One Important Point for Creating an Amazing Elevator Pitch

A good elevator pitch is succinct. It should be a simple introduction of not more than 30 seconds about who we are and what do we do.

Elevator pitch has to be able to show what are we good at.

Most of the people will tell their audience “what they are” or “what they do”.

“I am an accountant”

“I handle bookkeeping work for your account”

“I prepare tax returns”

These are the common answers that we might give when we are doing our elevator pitch. Many of us can provide a very good elevator pitch.

One interesting point that came across my mind.

People are more interested in what we cause. What can we can do to help them? What are the values that we can create for them. Why they’re better-off after we have delivered our services.

For example, for accountant:

“I help people pay less tax”.

Is that going to sound more attractive?

Imagine if we are in an elevator, and we do not have too much time to introduce ourselves.

As a listener, who do you think that you would be more likely to meet?

I’m a lawyer” or “I keep people out of jail

I’m a digital marketer” or “I help online businesses to generate more leads!

I’m a personal trainer” or “I help people look amazing

Would it sounds interesting if we only have a limited time to present ourselves? The point here is that when we are doing our elevator pitch we can consider on presenting to our listener in a way that we are able to create value to them, instead of just telling them what do we do, or how great are we. They are more concern of what we can do for them.

If you have an attractive elevator pitch that helps you to create great impression on your listeners, I am sure that they will come back to you.

A successful elevator pitch will definitely help you in many sense, including but not limited, to generating leads, or creating good retention.
