Our day to day business is by running the same agenda, repeating the same operation, or meeting the same people. We may always want to keep the excitement of our team or colleagues in our business in order for them to feel different every time. Some companies may keep the excitement through gamification.


On the other hand, I believe that setting milestones for the company will bring excitement to the team as well. It is important for the leader to identify and set the milestones of the company or the team.


A team can have different milestones. The milestones are some significant event or development that the team is able to see and achieve. The milestones have to be the short goals that require the cumulative effort of the team to hit.


Examples of milestones are "monthly sales target", "number of customers", "ratings" and many more.


The leader has to identify the suitable milestones which will be the common goals for the team to achieve. It has to be such goals that will get to excite the team. The milestones are something that the team will want to achieve together as it will be meaningful to them, and help them to reach the bigger goal and vision.


Setting the right milestones may provide recognition to the team, as well as allowing the team to feel the small wins are important.

Setting milestones will allow us to monitor the performance of the company by moving through the milestones to ensure the team is not astray from their bigger goals.


By celebrating the milestones will let the team to feel that the goals that they set matters, and they are good in achieving what they have committed !
